Mini Lesson 3
Time needed: 20 minutes

Lesson objective: Learner will narrow the 5 reasons down to the strongest 3.


1. The instructor will explain that they might not need all 5 reasons and that they need to pick the 3 strongest reasons or examples from the list of 5. The instructor will explain what might make one reason stronger or better than another.

2. The instructor will model and think out loud as they narrow the 5 reasons from their modeled example down to

3 reasons. Instructor will model how to use the Reason Ranking Sheet to pick the top 3 reasons.

3. The instructor will guide the class as they narrow the class reasons down to 3 strong reasons.

4. Groups will take their 5 reasons and narrow it down to 3 reason. Each group member will justify to one another why they feel their reason is stronger or better than the other reason.

5. The group will present their reasons to the instructor and explain their justification the instructor.
