The instructional package is intended for instructors who have a district-adopted curriculum for teaching writing. The instructor will be familiar with the writing process and will use the instructional package as a resource in planning the step-by-step presentation of the writing process. This process focuses on an I do, We do, You do, model. Learners are shown how to complete each step in the writing process as modeled by the instructor then done whole group as a class. Then the learner is given an opportunity to work with a group then is asked to complete the task individually.
The first section is focused in helping learners select a topic that they will be successful at presenting in a persuasive essay. The student materials in this section are the basic writing tools and good instruction from the instructor. The  mini lessons are meant to be taught one per day and not take longer than 35 minuets. Each mini lesson has teach resources that will give the instructor guidance beyond the district-adopted material. It is assumed that the instructors are familiar with teaching writing and can adjust the examples to fit the interest of  their students and the individual needs.
