Lesson objective: The learner will research more information about the topic and reasons for and against position
1.The instructor will explain that researched and well though out reasons for and against the topic are important. The instructor will remind students of the research strategies used in other areas of writing. Explain that it is important to have a knowledge of the topic being discussed.
2. The instructor will have sources ready to show students how to find facts and information that will strengthen their arguments and prepare them to counter and counter arguments.
3. The instructor will guide the class in finding research for the class topic.
4. Learners will work as groups to research and strengthen their topic with facts and information.
5. The instructor will look at the information gathered by the groups and discuss the quality of the information gathered and how it may help strengthen their argument.
